Question for you:

What are you doing for Christmas?

Weekly Workouts

This week was another busy one.Β  I picked up an extra shift + 4 hours. Mostly because Andrew was out of town with his dad’s for Christmas.

It was defiantly a rough week. Andrew being gone, extra work, less workouts, minimal sleep, and stress to boot. Needless to say IΒ  didn’t eat many things that were healthy, then the emotionally eating, and the cycle continued. I was a cranky mess by Saturday.

On the positive side, I did get to visit with my family and friends. Andrew had two amazing Christmases as well.

Sunday: day off πŸ™‚

Monday: 30 min bike + 15 min treadmill + 4 hours shift

Tuesday: 12 hour shift

Wednesday: 12 hour shift

Thursday: 12 hour shift

Friday: 1 hour spin class

Saturday: 12 hour shift

But it is time to get back to business. I have a few goals for this coming year, which I was start sharing soon πŸ™‚

I just started following Karla from To Find My Fit who talks about her goal of making a better relationship with herself. I love this! I think we can all take a little advice from her post

Question for you:

Do you have any goals for 2014?

What was one of your workouts this week?

Santa arrived early

Andrew and I had an amazing Christmas, I hope that everyone did as well. Even though we celebrated a few days before, everything was perfect

We had cookies out for santa

And the tree with all the presents

Andrew woke up at 6am, we decided to wait till 7 (or I did haha)

We then headed downstairs, to wait on my parents to arrive around 8 when we opened gifts, ate breakfast, and had a low key morning

What was your favorite gift to give or to receive this year?

Christmas Eve 2013

Christmas Eve was celebrated on the 21st here in our house. My brothers, sister in law, future sister in law, mom, dad, neice, nephews, and Andrew all met at my parents house for a night of lots of food and presents.

The day started out with a messy kitchen, while making some yummy treats

For dinner I made: Paleo sweet potato casserole, paleo dinner rolls, and for the first time paleo pumpkin pie πŸ™‚

When we arrived, no one was sure where we would sit because of all the presents! My mom really over did it this year. There are also gifts for my parents in there as well

But first, it was time to eat!

There were so many tasty things, but I think the shrimp was just the best. I also enjoyed a nice glass of wine

Time for pictures with my favorite twins πŸ™‚

And lots of cookies. The cookies I didn’t stay away from….

It was really a great night with the family. what was even better was that we didn’t have to rush anywhere after or before since we celebrated over the weekend. Merry Christmas πŸ™‚

Question for you:

What did you do for Christmas Eve?

Overstock delivers

I have so many things to share from the past few days! Just a few blog posts, but since I don’t have much time, I will wait until tomorrow and Wednesday πŸ™‚

Today was nothing too exciting. My cousins and I put together cookie trays, Andrew went to his dads :(, I went to the gym AND RAN ON THE TREADMILL! (don’t fall out of your seat. it was only 15 minutes haha) and then I went to work. yup. I picked up 4 hours to help the NICU out (and stop me from crying)

When I arrived home, and I was greeted by this package.

I was SO excited about this one. This was a gift to myself for working so many shifts. Sometimes you just have to do that (after the reebox buy, I am feeling more comfortable spending money on myself). Luckily, overstock.com was having a GREAT sale last week, and I snagged this chair for under $170! Originally $220

I love it in the living room! And one day I will take a picture of the whole room. Once the Christmas gifts are put away πŸ™‚

Question for you:

Do you get excited when packages arrive?

What was the last package you received?

New reebox kicks + weekly workouts

I will be short and sweet with the workouts. I didn’t get much in at the beginning of the week, but at the end I was getting some major booty! And my legs were defiantly feeling it Thursday, Friday, and Saturday! And I lost another 1/2 lb- I’ll take it!

Sunday: day off

Monday: 12 hour shift

Tuesday: 12 hour shift

Wednesday: 30 min bike + circuit workout

Thursday: kickboxing class

Friday: 12 hour shift

Saturday: 60 min spin class

but onto the good stuff……..

A week or so ago, Elf 4 Health had a day where the challenge was Treat Yourself. I had a really hard time with this, because if I get myself something I feel guilty. Even if it is 50 dollars, I feel that the money could go to the house or to Andrew. I even have a better time spending 100s on others and Andrew.

So for this challenge I thought long and hard, and I almost didn’t do it UNTIL shoecarnival.com had a deal online!

I was totally game for that! especially since I needed a new pair. My old ones were REALLY beat up

When they arrived I was so excited to try them out, unfortunately they were too big.

I headed to the store here in St Louis, and they didn’t have them in stock or couldn’t find them online 😦 They must have been a discontinued pair. Luckily, I was able to pick out a new pair from the store!

P1080763(still missing my old ones…..)

On Wednesday, I tried them out for the first time on the bike and then a circuit. On Thursday, I tried kickboxingΒ  and they were awesome. Only problem, is the right is rubbing on my back heel, only a band-aid can fix.

I really am glad I decided to spend the money, I know it was worth it.

Question for you:

What is your favorite pair of workout shoes?

Cookie Face Race 2013

I bet you have never participated in a cookie face race, and if you have you are that much cooler haha.

This past week, Andrew and I went to our Christmas party with our community group at our new church. It was an absolute blast! We ate (which was one of Andrew’s favorite parts haha) and then played games!

This was just one of them. Just take a few minutes to watch Andrew, especially at the end πŸ™‚

This is what Christmas is all about πŸ™‚

Question for you:

How many Christmas parties will you go to this year?

Have you ever played cookie face race?
