Mom and Me day:history museum and boat house

Andrew and I had a blast this past Friday. We were given a 3 day weekend to spend together. At first, I was thinking about all things we could do at home. cleaning, cooking, etc. And thought. yuck. We need to have some fun! I have been working A TON of extra shifts to buy silly things, like a furnace 😦

So instead, we went out on the town! I didn’t think about the TO DO LIST at home, but about spending time with him.  I of course took tons of pictures

We first started with the Missouri History MuseumHe was having a blast listening to the recordings and even asked if we could take it home

There are days where Andrew will just talk about random dates and events in history (that I remember nothing about!)

He is a HUGE history buff

Next up was the Cardinals section at the Museum, where we spent about an hour!

After a few hours at the museum, are tummies started to grumble so we headed to the Boat House, also in Forest Park, for lunch. There was an hour wait, so we headed to the paddle boats first

I have never done this before, and we both had a blast!

I swear if you have a chance, and are in St Louis, you just have to go do this!

It would also be a really great date night.

When we were through, we went back to have some lunch. Well they past us up, and said we had to go at the bottom of the list (after the girl today us that was not what would happen) so we headed to Bread Co as a second option. And we were both STARVING.

I also had a gift card, and trade their turkey cranberry Panini which was AMAZING! I also got 1/2 of the fugi apple salad

This day was absolutely perfect. Andrew and I haven’t had a day in WEEKs where we didn’t have someplace to run to, or I wasn’t thinking about the billion things I needed to do. I wish we could have more days like this, and hopefully we will 🙂

Question for you:

If there were 8 days in a week, one day to do whatever you wished, what would you do?

-I would have breakfast and coffee with Andrew outside on the patio, go for a swim, then a bike ride with Andrew. Dinner with the family. Then end the day with some catch out front, and a movie night with Andrew. Of course, we yummy eats throughout the day.

  1. It looks like you guys had a fun day. We’re in DC this weekend and hit a ton of museums, it’s been lots of fun. It’s neat that they have a Cardinals section in the museum too (everyone must be really big on baseball there). I’m glad you guys got to spend time together instead of cleaning or cooking or doing stuff around the house, it’s fun to get out :).
