The big birthday weekend

Even as I write this post, I can’t believe that I have a 9 year old. This is his last year of being in the single digits. And soon he will be a preteen… craazzzzyyy

~~~~~~~~
The birthday celebrations started on Saturday with a kid party and sleepover. They played outside for a long time and then opened presents
Question for you:
Would you rather have cake, ice cream, cupcakes, etc for your birthday?
Birthday, anniversary, Cake Oh MY!
This past weekend, I was lucky to have a few parties to attend and one massage on the calendar (it definitely helped keep my mind off the Kansas trip. Ok. Maybe just alittle)
The celebrations began on Friday night, when Pam (who is like my 2nd mom) came over with wine, kleenex, magazines, and a blanket. She basically ambushed my pity party (for which I am thankful…alittle haha) It was nice to talk things out about Mr. Flowers. I guess I’ll need to update everyone on that sometime soon, a new post maybe…
Saturday was my dad’s 67th bday! (with lots of silly faces)
After this past weekend, even though I worked out, I still had LOTS of cake, ice cream and carbs. Its now time to get back to business.
Question for you:
What is the next birthday party you will celebrate?
They’re home!
This weekend my parents finally got home from Paris! I’m not sure, but I think I was the MOST excited to see them.
The whole family got together on Sunday night for Andrew’s birthday and to hear about the trip. It was a great night!
It started with a homemade angry birds cake. Complete with lego candles and angry bird pencil toppers
I love getting everyone together. Although Andrew is the only one paying attention in the picture haha
After Andrew opened his gifts, my mom handed out presents! My younger brother got a shot glass (he collects them from around the world). My older brother got a french cookbook (in French and with their measuring system!) The kids got soccer jerseys, and my sister in law and I got scarfs! My mom said they were everywhere!
I picked the pink one and also the green poka dot
The girls also got this compact. I have never owned one, and the top is absolutely gorgeous and its PINK!
Question for you:
Where did you travel that was the farthest from home?
-Ireland for me 🙂
halloween cake!
hello blogging friends!!! Im sorry I have been MIA this week. I hate that I haven’t been blogging, but I have been working or there is NOTHING interesting that you want to hear about.
~~~~

Last night after work, I met with David at the Majestic Restaurant and Bar for some food and beer. And of course to watch the cardinals!

I changed and put on makeup at work 🙂

picture taken at home

(Who, at this exact moment, are in the 7th game and WINNING! YEA!)

We were both exhausted and ending up leaving around 10. yes we are old. And I almost feel asleep in a restaurant. Of course I went home and got my pjs on, and we texted the rest of the game. haha

Funny fact: David Freese was up to bat in the bottom of the 11th inning. I sent a message “I bet he hits a home run.  I can feel it” Message sent. And then HE HIT A HOME RUN TO WIN THE GAME!!!! I must be psychic haha

Today I woke up and ran A MILLION errands:

  • Grocery store.
  • Target
  • Took my grandma to two grocery stores
  • Hardware store
  • Old Navy (found a new brown dress that will work better for halloween)

My grandma is helping me with the costume, and it looks pretty good. Im going out with David tomorrow night, so I hope to have pictures than. (and then maybe he can make his first appearance on here…but we’ll see)

I also picked this up at the grocery store for 10 bucks! I think it might work in my room!

I also got these ingredients….can you guess what im going to make? haha

even though I was busy today, I still made time to make a halloween cake.  sprinkles on the inside and on top!

I only had one piece!! I sent a few pieces to my grandparents (a thank you for helping me with my costume!) and I didn’t go back for seconds. I was actually really proud of myself. Bad news is I didn’t get to the gym today, or out for a run. 😦

Question for you:

Do you ever beat yourself up or feel bad if you don’t make it to the gyM?

What are you going to be for halloween?

Michigan Part 1

Still no luck on the camera (I called almost all the stores so far that I went to in Michigan…no luck) Luckily, my mom takes 10X as many pictures as I do.

Last week, Andrew and I went on a family vacation with my mom, dad, brother, his girlfriend, my three cousins, and aunt and uncle. We stayed in an AMAZING house in Frankfort Michigan. We have gone there for many years, but not in the past 5. So I was so excited to get back up there!

The house pictures will have to come tomorrow (they deserve their own post). It is a three story house with 7 bedrooms, 5baths and is right on the beach. AND it use to be owned by Al Capone, the american ganster in the 1920s. THere is actually a hiden room and a section with bars on it. Needless to say, we talked about if there could possibly be ghosts there….but we didn’t hear or see anything.

I thought I would just show a MILLION pictures about what we did, and just give some captions.

Andrew swimming in the Platte River, which was warm and felt much better than the ice cold lake.

Me and andrew at the river, after a three mile hike on the beach. I was tired!

The river flows right into lake michigan. (river is on the bottom of the picture. lake at the top)

Family photo before going out to dinner

took a FEW photos at dinner

Yep. it was cold enough to wear a fleece jacket!

After dinner, we had a bonfire on the beach

And celebrated Melissa’s birthday (brothers gf) with cake!!

There were a few nights were we played games like Catch Phrase

The next day we took a boat ride on crystal lake and went swimming

We also took A LOT of family photos

Also went on a HILLY 26 MILE bike ride WHILE pulling andrew

well im off to bed. Ill have more pictures tomorrow!

Question for you:

In in your family takes the most pictures?

for me that would be a tie between my mom, and two uncles. but we always have a ton of pictures from each family event, which I love!

Birthday month!

After a crazy thursday and friday at work, I was back in the NICU and it was MUCH better and quiet. Which is good for me and good for the babies (this means they are doing well!)

And now that it is July, I can only be excited!

I love July. Mostly because its my birthday! I love celebrating birthdays, really anyones. Especially surprises parties. (I only had one. well almost. my mom was going to have a surprise 16th bday for me. And then I got mono. Total bummer)

my birthday w/ my friends 2009

Anywho. I love summer in gerneral, so having my birthday smack dab in the middle makes it PERFECT!

last years bday

So not only is it my birthday, BUT its official. ALL the walls are up in the kitchen and are taped!!! WAHOOO!!! Tomorrow we starting mudding

Not this type of muddin‘ haha

 I will post pictures of the kitchen as soon as my brothers gf sends them to me. I forgot my camera……I know. Whats going on with me!

Well busy day tomorrow. Im actually OFF WORK!!!! but have a million things to do, since Ive been working since wednesday.

Question for you:

What is your birthday?

Have you ever been 4 wheeling?

-I havent. We do have a four wheeler at our farm though.

younger brother and his gf

Today was spent running around St Louis.
Breakfast started with Pumpkin Oat Pancakes

Then to home depot to get dry wall!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont think i have EVER been this excited to go to home depot. Yep the kitchen is in the REBUILDING phase!

WAHOOOOOOO!!!

Also, had to pick up the cake for my kiddos bday party. Today’s was a joint party with another boy in Andrew’s class.
They had a swim party and had a blast!

Then it was time for target, walgreens, checking email. Pick up Andrew.

Lunch:

Apple Feta Pizza

Im watching you Tiger. Yes and orange cat names tiger, SOO original

 Its surprising I get to eat with all these animals trying to steal my food!

(ok my parents really only have a dog and cat)

I also had a yogurt and small piece of ice cream cake

 We then took a nap before it was PARTY TIME!!!

 the party included lots of swimming, pizza, and of course cake

All I had was cake. I mean who can turn down a star wars cake?!?!? exactly.

Off to bed. work tomorrow and then to work on my house!
