Vitamin D

I week ago,  I found out my Vitamin D level was 14! (normal low is 30). Today I got an email from fitness magazine, and one of their main stories was about vitamin D rich foods.

Fitness magazine had a few suggestions:


Cereal (not the healthiest option)

Milk (obviously)


Swiss Cheese

Shrimp ( I had no idea! Apparently it has 32% of your daily intake)

Oysters (ummmm. Ive never had these)

Grilled Oysters

Fortified OJ

Canned Tuna (umm. never had this either.)

Cod Liver Oil (I think Ill stick w/ the other options)

Do you eat most of these foods?

How do you eat tuna? straight out of the can (EWW) haha

Today. I was not having it. I was exhausted and I had two kids, no exercise, and a lot of carbs.
Ok. So two of those I could have changed.

Early breakfast with my son at 7am. Good o bowl of cereal with blueberries, bananas, fiber one, total cereal, and soy milk

Then I just couldnt get it together. Just feeling worn down. And I couldnt get out of the funk.

Lunch was a repeat from yesterday with some watermelon

Dessert, was pudding, fiber one cereal, pecans, and some sprinkles to make it colorful haha

then a did a bit of snacking. French bread. Chocolate square.

But while my nephew was sleeping, my son and I played w/ the slip n slide. After my nephew got picked up, my son and I went to a birthday party. I had a small piece of cake, and no pizza.

When I got home, I made some shrimp, veggies, and rice. It was just what I needed. While watching Law and Order SVU

now Im ready for bed. It was just one of those days.

Now I know its ONLY a lb. But thats a lb I NEVER. EVER. EVER. want to see again. PLLEEEASSSEEE be in the 180s next week. (today wont help, but tomorrow is a new day!

ANother day of running around:

Breakfast was fast. Arnolds thin, PB, and banana

-Grocery store

-Bed bath and beyond


Then I went to my house and got started. I had to paint the second coat in my son’s room.

It looks so good- now I just need to do the trim by the ceiling and its done.

That is not the case for the kitchen

This is my brother working on taking more of the ceiling and walls down. THERE ARE THREE LAYERS to come down!

Now that everything is taken down, we have to put it ALLLLL back up! haha

We also started working on sanding the cabinets. THen I am going to paint them an off white color

The “work room” AKA the garage haha

Then around 2 I needed to break for lunch. I had a turkey sandwich, lettuce, and tomato. With A MILLION fat free pretzels

 and colby cheese

Then it was time to relax. I went to get a pedicure and manicure with my mom. IT. WAS. AWESOME.

(while running out of the house I ate a warmed up pancake…yup. true story)

I am in a wedding this weekend so this was the perfect excuse reason to get it done!

Well after  A MILLION more pretzels. I NEEDED TO EAT ASAP!

I tried to put together my famous salad w/ jelly dressing…..but it just didnt hit the spot, so I threw it away (which I HATE throwing away food) and I made a favorite.

Yep. I had cereal for dinner. YUM

Back in the Lou

HI EVERYONE! sorry its been awhile. I went on a GREAT girls trip this weekend, and was busy eating, drinking, shopping, and eating some more haha

I will update you later this week about ALLLL the adventures. For now I will just start with today

Breakfast was strawberries, then took my son to school and headed to sams. Then I had a BIG bowl of cereal

cereal + PB + banana + protein powder

 Then I painted for 6 HOURS!!! With the help of my brother. Closing day for the house is April 29th!!

After getting covered in paint (and starving) I made a quick sandwich with lettuce and tomato on an arnolds thin. With a side of apple and colby cheese. (I also had cashews)

This meal wasnt till 4pm, so I wasnt too hungry for dinner. I did make it for the rest of my family, and tried some myself

Pasta with peppers, broccoli, mushrooms, and chicken. side of grapes

Then dessert was a skinny cow ice cream

When you paint, would you rather use a roller or a brush?

-I was in charge of the trim, and had to use a brush. It is very delicate stuff.

To Do List

I got A TON done today, and even slept in. After taking my son to school, I went back to bed. TILL 10:30. I realized that the antibiotics I am on not only make me nauseous, they also make me extremely tired.

Then I headed to the gym. Yep you heard right. I haven’t been able to workout in 2 weeks. I got a great 30 minute interval training on the treadmill. Then I walked on a 5.5 incline for 30 minutes.
After a shower and quick sandwich, I went to get groceries
Before the grocery store, I got my coupons and made a list~!
At the store, I picked up this bar. on the box it said this bar was all Natural….REALLY?!?!

THese were not on the list...not too bad!
After shopping, I had a bowl of cereal while my son had a snack and did homework.

One small step at a time

Im still trying to get my eating under control.

Before going to work for a class, I had breakfast that kept me full. 2 eggs, peppers and cheese with a clemetine

At work I did have two twix fun size. But I stopped (this is actually a big step for me. Usually I eat ALL candy in sight)

At home, I tried to get some things done: laundry, cleaning, and putting away clothes….and then I fell asleep on my bed….with all the lights on haha

For lunch: I tried a chicken/pepper wrap, but there was too much soy sauce I put on there. I only ate 3/4 of it.  And grapes

My nephew came and I love him so much! We even had a dance party in the kitchen when my son got home! I then had a bowl of cereal, but I measured everything

(again. this is a step for me. I usually just POUR and I usually go back for seconds too)

While making dinner, and THESE, I snacked on pecans

Dinner was a spinach chicken recipe. My family LOVED it. (I was surprised, they are VERY picky).

(Ill post this recipe too)

For dessert, I had three cookies and 1/2 cup ice cream

Crazy Day in the NICU

Sorry I didnt post last night, I didnt even get home till 930! I am a nurse in the NICU and there were several babies that are extremely sick, and we also got a new baby that was sick. It was so busy, I was charting 2 hours after my shift ended.

I didnt get to eat lunch, just snacked on a TON of trail mix. So dinner was cereal

Also, some yummy wine

I wasnt able to get to swim practice. By the time I got home I was exhausted. I slept in today till 11!

Question for you:
What do you do on a night to relax?
-Being in my PJS having a movie night with my son. Then putting him to bed to have some time with my DVR and blogginG!

Food on the Go

Today I was out of the house till 4 pm!

For breakfast, I made two egg and pepper egg sandwich. Eating while running out of my house.

can you see the bushes trying to pop of the snow!?!?! I cant wait for spring!

I then had to go to a computer class for work, and I snacked on some pecans. And I was going to have a banana. But this is what happened in my purse………


the horror!!! Can you imagine if it wasnt in the bag hahah

😦 one lost banana. Luckily I had a raisin granola bar that I ate on the way to get my son. And then we went to the science center. It was really nice! We never get to do things together during the day because he is usually in school!

BUT I WAS STARVING when we got home at 3:30. Lunch was reheated turkey burger and potatoes.

Then it was dessert time. HUGE bowl of cereal (fiber one, kashi, PB, banana, chocolate protein powder, and soy milk)

THEN….I might have eaten a ton of trail mix….so no real dinner. and NO exercise today. But I have a 7 mile run tomorrow….on the TREADMILL. YUCK!


I didnt get to workout because I was helping my neighbor make a shirt for her “big sister” in highschool (picture later) and I got all my scrapbook stuff out to make valentines day cards for my spark friends! And I want to share the scrapbook pages I made, but that will have to be later this week (its almost 11 here already!)

 But here is a sneak peak!

Dad’s Birthday Part Two

Another crazy saturday.

Started out with a bowl of cereal (fiber one, kashi, chocolate protein powder, milk, and PB). Forgot my banana- DARN. but still good 🙂

Then off to the gym, after scraping four inches of snow off my car to go to the gym with my friend. We were taking a new class, I love having a workout buddy!

Then I shoved with the “help” of my dog, Riley

For lunch it was a repeat of dinner, chicken pasta sauce, provolone cheese, peppers, and mushrooms.

Then I had a TON of trail mix. It looks like I measured it….but went back for more…and more
