30 by 29: week 9

I hope everyone had a great week! I can’t believe we are week 9 of this challenge! I feel like I was just writing up week 8. This week went pretty well, just need a little improvements 🙂

number29

(Goal is to lose 30lbs by my 29th birthday on July 16th)

Week 8: Down 1.5lbs

TOTAL DOWN: Considering I was up 4lbs last week, I am still up. BUTTTT this week, I lost. That I am happy about 🙂

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nutrition:  Pretty Good
I have been tracking everyday, and I have been getting less than 80 of carbs. This week I want below 60. I can do this!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Workouts: Good

  • Sunday: off
  • Monday: 12 hour shift
  •  Tuesday: Muscle works class at the gym 🙂
  • Wednesday: 12 hour shift
  • Thursday: sick day 😦
  • Friday:  15 min elliptical + 10 minute no excuse workout (I did this 2x with sets, not a time)

Lots more weights this week! my body defiantly feeling it, and liking it. I did miss my spin class and rowing. But I think I will try and incorporate both weights + cardio 🙂

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sleep quality and duration:  Alright
I defiantly could work on this this week
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

How I was feeling: stressed

My MRI test and the result of my CT test were REALLY weighing on me. Need to get some yoga in my life, or a massage

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Things I did well:  Workouts
Things I need to work on: getting the weight off!
Even though I probably won’t make 30 by 29, I am still going to plow through. If I lose or not, I am not going to stress about it. Just try and be healthy eat day, and keep track if the weight goes up or down. Just see what happens!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Week 7: stayed the same

TOTAL DOWN: -2

need to get this down!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nutrition:  Horrible.
Much better this week, especially since one day I couldn’t eat for 24 hours. My stomach was not happy about this, or the after. It is still hurting me today.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Workouts: OKKKKKK

I didn’t get in good workouts, but I do go three days this week, and that is my goal! next week, PICK IT UP!

Sleep quality and duration:  Good

This is probably the only thing I had going for me this week, but it was a million times better. It helped me deal with the stress.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How I was feeling: stressed
Between the tests, sick babies in the NICU, and more stressors, I was feeling very overwhelmed come Friday.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Things I did well: sleep

Mom and me + elf 4 health

Today, I start the Elf4Health challenge which runs from 11/25-12/22. Along the way, you  gain an elf friend for 2 weeks, and then switch up and get a new elf for the last 2 weeks. Their are daily challenges, the support of a fellow elf, AND prizes along the way! I know I mentioned it was free. (and you can still sign up for the last two weeks if you are looking for some challenges and accountability!)

Today is GO MEATLESS. Trying this while on the paleo diet has been a bit difficult, but I am trying to get in my protein in other ways!

Tomorrow is unsubscribe to unwanted junk mail. I am really excited about his! Cleaning things up is a favorite “hobby” of mine (says only type A personalities haha)

I plan to keep you guys updated along the way. And you guys are welcome to keep me on track as well 🙂

~~~~~~~~
If we rewind to Sunday, you will see a fun filled Andrew and mommy day. It started with church (and starbucks!)
We then drove out to sky zone again. I guess we are hooked!
Andrew wanted to just jump by himself (which he later regretted when he asked me repeatedly to join him). Afterwards we went looking for lunch. I wanted to eat a new place and not a fast food joint.
This led us to a bar and grill called Mr Lucky’s. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this place for future visits. I think it is a great place for buddies to meet for a few beers and to watch the twenty TVs that they have. It was smoky and a little outdated. The food was typical bar food (but not that impressive) BUT our waitress was EXTREMELY nice.
So a small bust for finding a new place, but at least we tried!
The rest of the day was spent lounging at home and watching Too Cute. Still not a lot of house work getting done, but what ya gonna do haha
Question for you:
Do you eat at the same restaurants or tend to branch out?
WEEK 1: UPDATE
Today was the day, time for the WEIGH IN!
I LOST A POUND! WAHOOO!!!
one lb
Just one lb a week, that was a my goal. And this  week, I was able to accomplish that!
This weeks goals:
-Lose 1 lb
-Find new recipes!
-Look for healthy “sweets”
Question for you:
What are you doing this weekend?
Do you have any goals for the week, month, year?
Day 1: smaller pants
Well, I accomplished two of my three goals.
#1 Get to the gym!
20 min on the stationary bike for 5 miles
10 min on the elliptical
30 min of weights
#2 Chart food
Fail. I didn’t do this, but I will work on it.
UPDATE:
-Just figured out the ugly numbers thanks to sparkpeople
#3 Get off the computer!
After Andrew got off school, we got a new game, BATTLESHIP. We had a blast! We were almost late to boyscouts.
Plan for this week:
Tuesday: 9:00 Muscle works
Wednesday: 9:30 Drills to make you sweat
Thursday: 10:00 YOGA!
Friday: 8:30 Butts and Guts
Saturday and Sunday: Rest days I work 😦
So I have a plan for the workouts, now I just need to get the food in check.  Luckily, it wasn’t hard to unplug from the computer. I need to start spending more quality time with Andrew. He is getting so big so fast!
Question for you:
What is one of your favorite snacks?
I have trouble getting in veggies, how do you usually get your daily veggies in?
Challenge Day #2
So today was AS good as yesterday. I did go to the gym and run 3 miles on the treadmill and then hit the weights. I have been working on bumping up the weights, So far So good!
My food choices today, were great until about 5pm when I had this huge migraine and we had to go to boyscouts for Andrew. OH YEA. A bunch of screaming kids. It didn’t help.
Afterwards, I enjoyed a sip of wine and now I am heading to bed.
Although, I did make a great new recipe for dinner
I also got to share this cookie w/ Andrew, because we wont’ be together on St Patty’s Day 😦
Question for you:
Wine or beer?
What are you doing for st pats day?
Challenge Day #1
Day 1 of the challenge is complete. And I feel like I did a pretty good job! How about you guys?
The day started w/ breakfast with Andrew. He had oatmeal, I had two eggs w/ peppers and banana w/ PB. FILLINNNGGG. I also had a gas station coffee
I surprised Andrew by being at his school for the hearing/vision tests. I also use to love when my mom came to school. The whole first grade was excited haha. I love seeing him ❤
I then grabbed some pistachios and grapes
And headed out for a bike ride.  It was 80 degrees outside, and since I still don’t know whats going on w/ my dizzy spells, I stayed away from running. Unfortuantly, the bike ride wasnt too much better. My chain fell off TWICE, but I was able to get it back on. I was able to get 10 miles in, but it wasn’t pretty. OH well better than nothing!
Lunch was a left over hamburger w/ ketchup, and a big salad: lettuce, cranraisins, sunflower seeds, pecans, and bleu cheese. Desert was dates and PB
I then tried to make my grandpa, who turns 85 today!, some cookies (recipe to come sunday). The first round didnt work out, but it will work for granola! second round: USE PARCHMENT PAPER
Andrew and I had a pizza  for PI day. I also had another note 🙂
We also filed out our March Madness Brackets. Andrew has Mizzou winning the whole thing. He loves EVERYTHING mizzou
And I had some “granola” w/ a Oiko’s yogurt. YUM. with new books from the library. I finally got the Paleo Diet for Athletes! Which both Tiffany and Angie have recommended 🙂
Challenge for today: I feel it wasn’t too bad. what do you think? I also NEVER felt guilty about eating anything. When I eat because of emotions I always feel INCREDIBLY guilty and pissed at myself for eating. then I eat more. So it is a big cycle. Today, I didn’t feel any guilt wahoo!!
Challenge for TOMORROW: Run at least 3 miles outside/treadmill, and strength training. I also want to keep Day #1 challenge up!
Question for you:
Do you have a challenege?
How was your hump day?
