How much are you taking?

Today. was interesting.

I started the day by walking Andrew to school. This is probably my second favorite part of the day (besides walking home w/ him) But I just love how we get out, walk together, and get to talk. Today we played “dont step on the crack, or you break your mother’s back” . DId you ever play this as a kid?

Besides the fun walk, I was not feeling so well. Migraine was still hanging out, so I went back to bed. I mean who does this! I know I have been doing this for the past few months, but this is just not me. I am NOT usually this exhausted and tired.

After waking up (for the second time) I made breakfast. An oldie but goodie!

I also had an iced coffee on the way to the doctor. I will say she is amazing, and talked to me for a good amount of time so I could give her all the info about what has been happening the past few months. Of course, there could be a few sources of the problem, so I got a bunch of blood work.

To which I asked, “how much are you taking”. And I got this cool arm band to wear to the bleeding stopped. Dont be jealous 😉

Blood work complete. Time for some pistachios and the gym. Since Andrew is going to his dad’s this weekend, I decided to head to the gym and stay for as long as I wanted. I started w/ 20 minutes on the treadmill and then an hour of weights! I can already feel it!

Dinner w/ my mom for a beer and salad at Joey B’s while watching the Mizzou game, which if  you watched, you know they lost 😦

And to end my Friday night, I cleaned the bathrooms, did laundry, and watched more basketball while catching up on blogs. It was pretty FABULOUS haha. But I was glad to get things done around the house, since this week I didn’t do much.

Challenge for tomorrow: Dont buy any food in at work. I have my whole lunch packed, I dont need to get anything else.

Question for you:

What games did you play as a kid?

-We also played rock school 🙂

Fixing a few things

After working the past three days (and a rough three days at that. and im not talking about the sugar), I woke up and took Andrew to school. And then it was back to bed for me. I needed it. And it was awesome!!! Im glad I did, considering what was to come….

Then it was time to hit the gym. I ran 30 minutes and then hit the weights. While lifting, I got hit on by an older gentleman. And by older I mean about 50.
I thought man. If the younger men talked to me as much as the older, I wouldn’t be single haha.

After lifting, I noticed something wasn’t right

It is the ring my mom gave me when we went to Ireland last year.

I guess I was lifting harder than I thought haha. Nothing my little pliers couldn’t fix.

I then tried a new recipe. W/ coconut flour.

They didn’t turn out. I don’t think Andrew and I will ever like something w/ coconut flour. We must try almond flour- I wonder if trader joe’s has it?

Around noon, I got a call from Andrew’s school. He was running a fever and his throat hurts 😦

PLEAASSE no more strep throat! Weren’t we just at the doctor?!!? Oh yes. We were!

Verdict: no strep. Just sore throat. No fever.

Soooo Andrew and I had a night in of pizza. (I made it flat this time)

Can you guess which side was mine?? haha. and left overs for tomorrow!

Then ice cream while we watched the Dolphin Tail. It was actually really cute.

It is also my friend’s birthday- so we made this video for her!

(still don’t know why wordpress wont let me post the video on here)

Question for you:

How was your Friday?

Have you ever tried coconut, almond, or peanut flour?

-I LOVVVEEE peanut flour

Cody and Andrew Updates

Well I have a few updates for you guys! Both not so good.

So Cody and I were doing really well. I liked him a lot. We seemed to get along great. Had a lot in common. I also never felt any akward moments w/ him. But the past few days have been a little off. I haven’t heard from him much (I always have to text him. PS I HATE texting. I mean ok I like it. But to have a conversation there is not a good idea. Someone usually thinks when they say something, they mean something else. Its never good)

I don’t know if its OFFICALLY over. We still talk, but its random. I guess we’ll just see. I did have a mini break down last night. But more of the “Im single for the holidays. Im by myself” kinda blues.

The second update is about my main little man, Andrew.

This morning he woke up with a sore throat and saying his ears hurt. It took a total of about 5 seconds when I looked at his throat to know he had strep. So we headed to the doctor, got some antibiotics, and we are now watching tv. I just hope I don’t get it (im not feeling 100% blah!)

When we went to get a vanilla shake from mcdonalds, I couldn’t believe the rude people that were there. Don’t they know that christmas is in two days and thats more important than who was in line first or not?!?!?!

Anywho. Dear TV gods, can you please put more christmas movies on. THere are NONE!

Question for you:
what fun things did you get to do today?

Any last minute shopping?

Doing a body good

The day started out with pumpkin pancakes with Andrew

After getting him to school, I was first going to go on a run. But I wasnt feeling it. And then I thought BIKE RIDE! I was SO excited! I couldnt wait!

The bike ride was AMAZING. I really zone out and have a good amount of time to just BE. and I get a lot sorted out in my head. Some people get that when they run. I zone out and do a lot of thinking when I swim and run. So I finished 15.5 miles and my butt is killing me haha

Then it was time for groceries! I am reading about the Paleo diet (basically just eating natural food)

look at all the colors!!!

How does it look? I know the bread isn’t Paleo, but were taking it one day at a time.haha Notice the lego books- those will be from santa haha

It was already 11, so I needed a snack ASAP

cucumbers, peppers, and carrots w/ some hummus

notice my roadID? I love it- wore it all day haha

Update on Andrew: So we went to the doctor again today.

They looked again in ever facial opening possible! He has a bump on his forehead where there use to be a bruise. His ears are feeling full, but they look perfect. they did a hearing test and past w/ flying colors.

Reflexes were checked. He had to stick his tongue out. So he checked out just fine. I think they diagnosed him w/ an active imagination. But Im not sold on that.

I also had someone ask how school and home were going, because sometimes if they are having problems there, then they can show physical signs.

I plan on emailing his teacher, but after several conversations today, school seems just fine. And home really hasnt changed. So Im stumped.

The plan: just keep an eye on him, and if he doesnt get better by thursday we will probably have to see a neurologist. 😦

Question for you:

Do you zone out when you work out?

What is your favorite veggie?

-Mine would be peppers. You can do so much with them!
