What I ate Wednesday + new workout

Today is another What I Ate Wednesday, thanks to Peas and Crayons!

For breakfast, I went back to the basics. Eggs, peppers, and bacon. YUM

Then it was time to workout and then trader joe’s

I picked up my twin neice and nephew. So by the time it was lunch I was STARVING!

So lunch was apple pork tenderloin that was made yesterday.

Then I had a protein pumpkin cake for dessert.

ELF 4 HEALTH: try a new workout

I went looking for a new workout on my pinterest board, and found lots of good ones, but all I wanted to do was go to spin class. Which of course, is not new for me. So I headed to the gym, and to my amazement the spin class was full! Fate. I think so. haha. So instead I did 35 min on the bike, and this workout

After a quick workout at the gym (my tuesday class that I love), it was time AGAIN for groceries. Can you believe it?

Veggies: cauliflower, pumpkin, avocado, sweet potato, carrots, and peppers

I FOUND THE BUTTER AT THE GROCERY STORE! I didn’t have to travel all the the way to Trader Joe’s

Then I found this chocolate that I hope to bake with.

It is WAY too strong (is that the right word?) for me

Then more painting, and to get Andrew who had a 1/2 day! So we hit the road to my favorite trail for a bike ride

We ended up going 5 miles, and going by some pretty amazing horses.

Peas and Crayons

I completely forgot, got insanely busy, and didn’t eat much or anything exciting (until dinner!)

Breakfast: Same o’ eggs and bacon

(only had a few bites. had to get out of my house after the bug guys fogged my house. )

Snack: 2 string cheese and pepperoni while running to get the panels for my new fence 🙂 Thanks to my dad for helping!

Dinner: Cheeseburger and some fries at the Cardinals game (more on that later)

Mixing it up with eggs!

I have a new favorite breakfast, and it doesn’t involve oats, bananas, or peanut butter! I know. It’s crazy.

It is called an omelet. haha. I have never been a huge fan of omlets (unless they have LOTS of cheese) But a few mornings ago, I woke up thinking about this new combo.

I heated two frozen turkey sausage in the microwave. I then cut them up and some red pepper and put them in a heated skillet. After those were ready, I added two eggs. Because the yolks have all the nutrients! I did add cheese on top the first day, but it really didn’t need it. This kept me full for over 5 hours!

Vitamin D

I week ago,  I found out my Vitamin D level was 14! (normal low is 30). Today I got an email from fitness magazine, and one of their main stories was about vitamin D rich foods.

Fitness magazine had a few suggestions:

Salmon

Cereal (not the healthiest option)

Milk (obviously)

Eggs

Swiss Cheese

Shrimp ( I had no idea! Apparently it has 32% of your daily intake)

Oysters (ummmm. Ive never had these)

Grilled Oysters

Fortified OJ

Canned Tuna (umm. never had this either.)

Cod Liver Oil (I think Ill stick w/ the other options)

Today was a whirlwind.

Breakfast started w/ eggs, pb, and banana

I then grabbed a gas station coffee and headed to my “home away from home” Home Depot.

I got some good stuff BECAUUUUSSSSEE I have decided to redo the bathroom on the first floor. Or as we like to call it “The pepto bathroom”

At first, we were just going to put in the new sink, paint the cabinet, get some new fixtures and light, and a new lid for the toilet.

WELLLLLLLLLLL then I found myself looking at Pinterest and it all went to hell down the drain from there.

I found this bathroom which I really LOVED. And I thought. how easy- right?!?!?! WRONG!!!!

because everytime I want to work on a project, it SOMEHOW involves taking down walls. Why oh why do I decide to work on my house. I really just need to stop haha.

I was really excited to get started on my own. (dont mind the hair and how extremely tired I look!)

I  removed all the towel racks (there were THREE!), put in new door handles, painted the cabinet, and spray painted the mirror.

They will need another coat of paint, so I started on getting the tile off the walls. which happen to be CEMENTED to the plaster.

 FABULOUS! (remember the kitchen!!!)

I was really bummed because I like starting a project and see results, or at least progress.

Anyway, the damage has begun. The tile is going to have to be CUT OUT tomorrow. It is not going to be an easy or fast task AT ALL. Luckily, my handyman brother and his assistant my dad are coming over to work with me. I love them 🙂

Lunch wasn’t till 1, and it was a simple turkey, lettuce, and tomato sandwich, with a side of apple and colby cheese. Nothing fancy.

Dinner was easy as well, since my kitchen is housing all the stuff to work on the bathroom. I made a turkey burger, and had a side of grapes and corn on the cob. Dessert was frozen yogurt w/ fiber one cereal.

Lab Update: I still don’t have the results back from Friday. (I hate when it takes so long on the weekends but it is what it is) Luckily, tomorrow I am calling the office, they said they should have them by then. I am still having really weird symptoms……

Sunday Funday

Today I woke up exhausted. Apparently talking to your neighbors till 130 am isnt the best idea

(especially since I didnt go to bed till 1 the night before ) Who AM I? because I like to go to bed before 10!!!

Anyway, before church this morning, my belly wanted some eggs. So I delievered

 Around 1030 I grabbed some trail mix and headed to my kickball game. I havent been able to play since I have been out of town for a wedding, and working on my house. I love to play, but I get butterflies in my stomach when I am up to the plate (yep. I do. I got nervous at my first swim meet in 7 yrs too haha)

After the game,  home for a fast lunch before the Cardinals vs Cubs game!

I could seriously eat a whole watermelon.

Then I was off to sweat my booty off  cheer at the cardinals game.

The game was AWESOME (Except for all the sweat)

They ended up tying it up in the 9th, going to extra innings, and then winning when Albert Pujols hit a home run in the bottom of the 10th. It was AMAZING!!!!

At the game, a nice looking fellow came up and said I looked really nice in my dress.

 I havent had a guy say something nice to me in MONTHS. it defiantly made my day 🙂

Then the rest of my life evening consisted of making my son’s birthday party invitations.

He turns SIX on thursday. His party is in a few weeks.

Dinner was ordered in from Joey Bs. (its a family fav)

 I had spinach salad, a 1/2 hot sauce chicken sandwich, and some spinach articoke dip.

I did pretty well on the food until dinner. I was trying to eat “clean” as best I could today. I even skipped on ALL ballpark food today. I was really proud of myself!

Now its time for an early night- ITS 9:30! wahoo!! haha
