When the instructor really matters

For the past few weeks, I have really started to love spin class. Our gym has many different classes, with multiple instructors, which has been great! unfortunately, this last week I had a HORRIBLE instructor fill in for another.  I think she was flustered, but it never improved…..

Some things that I like about class:

  • music
  • people dancing, singing
  • kept up with girl next to me

Dislikes:

  • didnt use the mic. had no idea what she said
  • spinning fast when it was slow part of a song
  • instructor was sore, she was slow spinning the whole time
  • stayed in one position or speed for long periods

I know this makes me sound like a complete snob! But the whole time, I was thinking how ridiculous the class was. The only reason I got an OK workout, was because I followed the girl next to me. I realize most my “likes” were not based on her….I usually will pick up my pace depending on the instructor, or the cadence of the music.  I felt bad for her, because it is hard coming into a new class, but the actually spin part was bad too.  This morning, I headed to another class with a great instructor. She had great music, and even had us pretend we were in the Olympics, racing eachother. Made the class go by SO fast. I left with sore legs and a sweaty face. Just the way I like it. hahaha

Today, I needed to bake, and decided on some awesome banana bread. No wasted bananas around here

Sorry I have been MIA the past few days, between work and not having much to say I didn’t want to bore you.

I also have been staying busy doggie sitting, and baby sitting.

Of course that means, my house is a mess. OH WELL! Better to live in a messy house, than spend life cleaning constantly 🙂

I also made it to the gym for spin class today, I was a red sweaty mess!!

Then I felt bad for all the girls who come to the gym with a full set of make and their hair down and curled!!! (yep. they still exist haha)

Andrew and I also ran to Big Lots and got tons of stuff for xmas, and even some new pans for baking!

I love the ones from trader joe’s, so I had to see about these. They were only a buck 🙂

Well thats about it, I have been staying busy, eating great (less than 80g of carbs a day!) and getting to the gym. And I lost 2lbs this week! Now I am going to read and take some much needed me time 🙂

Week Two: Skinny Jeans

No, this week I will NOT be wearing skinny jeans. But after kicking booty last week, I am feeling great. I even had my neighbor say how I’m losing weight. Which was really sweet.

The only thing is, the scale isn’t showing any weight lose. BUT my clothes are fitting better!! wahoO!

Today, I needed some down time. Work this past weekend, was extremely stressful. Yoga was on the schedule!

I have a dilemma for the week, I work Tuesday and Wednesday, and then I am heading out of town on Friday morning. So how do I get my  workouts in?

Day 1: smaller pants

Well, I accomplished two of my three goals.

#1 Get to the gym!

20 min on the stationary bike for 5 miles

10 min on the elliptical

30 min of weights

#2 Chart food

Fail. I didn’t do this, but I will work on it.

After Andrew got off school, we got a new game, BATTLESHIP. We had a blast! We were almost late to boyscouts.

Plan for this week:

Tuesday: 9:00 Muscle works

Wednesday: 9:30 Drills to make you sweat

Thursday: 10:00 YOGA!

Friday: 8:30 Butts and Guts

Saturday and Sunday: Rest days I work 😦

So I have a plan for the workouts, now I just need to get the food in check.  Luckily, it wasn’t hard to unplug from the computer. I need to start spending more quality time with Andrew. He is getting so big so fast!

Last night I got a text from my friend Annie, saying she wasn’t sure she could make it to the gym this morning. I said OHHHH NO. we HAVE to go!! She is my circuit training buddy and I ALWAYS workout harder when she is there.

Andrew and I just hung out the rest of the day. I also primed the new front door!

And Andrew started soccer again! So off to practice we go haha

-In gradeschool, I played softball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, and I swam year round. How did my parents do that!!?!?!?!

Here we go again…

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! I woke up at 420 am. WIDE AWAKE

I laid in bed thinking. Go to the gym? run outside? go back to bed? Go to the gym? run outside? go back to bed?

Well, heading to the gym won over. I mean who am I?!?! I always choose to go back to bed haha

At the gym I completed 3 miles on the treadmill and 3 miles (10 minutes) on the bike.

My legs were feeling really tight, so the treadmill was a walk/run. But at least I was there. With two other people 🙂

The whole day I didn’t feel bad at all for  being up that early. I think I might be becoming a morning person!! AHHHH! THE HORROR! haha

Today’s Eats:

  • Before workout snack: 1/2 arnolds thin, PB, 1/2 banana
  • After workout: 2eggs, sausage, peppers, american cheese. Coffee
  • Breakfast at work: PB and banana. Coffee
  • Snack: Apple
  • Lunch: Porktenderloin w/ ketchup. Salad. Watermelon. Vitatop
  • Dinner: Hot dog. Ice cream.
