Day off at home

The past few weeks, I have been picking up a lot of extra shifts. Which is great on the bank account, but not so much at home.

But luckily today, not only did a get a ton done at home, but I also had a few visitors

P1080453

This guy was my buddy for most of the day (his sister slept most of the day)

P1080452

I even had time to set up a new piece of furniture in the living room

P1080456

Even before I picked them up, I headed to the gym. I have been trying to get in some GREAT workouts. Not necessarily LONG workouts, but SWEATY ones haha

P1080451And today was another good one

Baby stuff was everywhere!

P1080454

And I had a blast taking  care of them, not overwhelmed or stressed at all. Can’t wait till next week

Question for you:

Do you get stressed with lots on your plate?

Less than $50 at Target? no way

I think I may have a small problem with target.com

P1070870

(ok not a problem, just a few things to buy)

After my “issue” at my house a few weeks ago (where someone broke in) I thought it was time to buy some new curtains for the living room and dining!

A few weeks after I moved in
A few weeks after I moved in

(it only took me 2 years…)

Luckily, I am always in Target……

P1070876

(I mean who can leave there under 50 bucks!??!?! But the curtains were not that bad AT ALL!)

SO they had the style but not the length, so I ordered them online with Andrew’s new school pants and shorts And I love how they turned out!

P1070873

Hopefully this will keep away the peeping toms 🙂

Later I will show you the ones in the living room, they are light tan and just not that exciting. (yup I get excited about curtains, OH WELL!) I also want to paint the chandelier. All in good time

Question for you:

What is your favorite section to hit up at Target?

-I always go by the shoes, for Andrew and for me!

What house project(s) are you working on right now?

– I have another outdoor project coming up! Shouldn’t take more than a day or two 🙂

Pinterest inspiration

Pinterest is pretty darn awesome. unless you are my brother…. because the bathroom redo all started with pinterest, went to knocking down the walls, and ended up pretty awesome!

Here is where I got my inspiration

(ignore the legos. I do. haha)

I am SUPER happy with it! Every time I walk by I scream “OHHH I just love it!” haha

SOOOO thankful for my handymen (my brother and dad!)

Now its time for the Easter bunny to stuff eggs 🙂

Question for you:

Who is your handyman in your house?

-I can paint like no other haha

Adding little touches

Today, I started the day at teh gym. THANK GOODNESS because I got a call from work about a serious situtation. Afterwards, I jumped on the treadmill and did intervals at a 8.5! I was trying to just wear myself out so I wouldn’t think about it. Well, it worked for a little bit.

I then ran my booty around town. Picking up mouse traps (YUCK), tile for the floor in the bathroom, Curtains to try in the living room, and little odds and ends for the house.

Here they are. They aren’t big, but they had a little something 🙂

More flowers for the living room

New vase and glass for the mantel

Vase for the living room table

Fake flowers for the bathroom

The night ended w/Andrew, a Chipmunk movie, and  ice cream in a tiny baseball cup 🙂

Question for you:

Before and After: Mantel

I love “before and after” shots.

From Fall to Christmas, messing w/ contact paper, I even have a previous mantel before and after.

Today’s isn’t such a big deal, but I LOVEEEEE the after.

I have this picture from pinterest (yup. I love it and yet it gets me in trouble haha)

I found these really pretty flowers at Target, and bit the bullet and bought them for the mantel.

BEFORE

AFTER

Question for You:

What is on your mantel?

Do you like having flowers around the house?

Its a Brick Housssee

Does anyone remember that song by the commodores?

(pause)

My son and I just danced to this song from Youtube haha

Anyway, here is my brick house!

On the day that I closed, family and friends came over to see the place!

We celebrated with some champagne and grape juice for my lil kiddo

My younger brother, his gf, with me and my son

Me and my mom after EVERYONE cleared out

So a little tour of the house(maybe ill do a video tour later!)

When you first walk in the door it is the living room

And to the right is the dining room

(that table isnt there anymore, it was just for the visitors to put their things on while touring the house!)

Then continue past the table, and you enter the kitchen. (which as we speak is completely torn apart)

crazy monkey

If you start back in the living room you can go through the door way on the left, it is the third bedroom.

But we will be using it as a family room (sorry thats probably complicated haha)

we call it the green room, because the carpet is nice, but not the best color……………

Then we go upstairs and to my room!

Andrew’s room is to the left….hes obviously excited hahaha

And then there is a full size bath upstairs

So that covers the house. Unfortuantly I dont have a picture of the back yard w/ a two car garage, or the basement.

Im not sure why. And these pictures are REALLY boring since there isnt any furniture.

There are MULTIPLE projects going on:

1.) Everything in the kitchen was taken out. Im painting the cabinets.

My brother and dad are redrywalling (the previous owner’s son did a HORRIBLE job)

2.) Full bathroom: shelves w/ new contact paper (FINISHED). New shower rod and curtain+ towels etc (FINISHED). Doing a beach theme in there w/ shelves and a little paint

3.) Painting my son’s room blue. (I am on the FOURTH COLOR! blue paint you are the death of me haha) Im painting my room later

4.) New fans in the “green room”, Andrews room, and my room

5.) Removing ivy and old brush in the front and the back of the house

6.) Spray painting living room coffee table : FINISHED! (yep I can say this one is finished haha post to come later)

And obviously there are many other things I want to do to the house, but I dont need everything finished before we move in. Which is set for the end of May, but well see how the boys do on the kitchen haha

Question for you:

Have you ever accomplished (or attempted) a large house project? How did it go?
