Giggles before the MRI

After an early morning trip to the hospital, for my very first MRI, I went to visit a graduate NICU patient.

cool paper clothes haha

He has been out of the NICU over a year, and I still visit at least every week, just love that little guy. I also LOVE his foster mom. Who listened to me, and was supportive when I just started bawling when I walked in the door. I guess I was trying to be strong, and not deal with the stress and it hit me all at once. Can’t wait to hear the results!!

(rewind to Thursday night)

Since my test was early enough that I had to be awake at 5:30am, and be there at 6, Andrew spent the night at my parents. And then the laughs began……..

My nephew is such a hoot and LOVES the BLUES

140227_006

My parents dog, Riley, apparently does as well haha140227_001

My dad being silly…

140227_008

I will say these laughs, talking to several friends about my worries/concerns helped lifted my spirits. My dad is retired, but he was an CT tech at a hospital here in St Louis, and talked with a few of his buddies who told me not to worry. This “fat mass” on the kidneys are common and it is probably something I had since birth.  Here’s to praying its fat! haha

Question for you:

Who is the goofiest person in your house?

Valentine’s Day 2014

Andrew and I had a pretty quiet but still fun Valentine’s Day and I hope you did too!

In the past, I have always REALLY disliked this day because I was single (now I dislike it because of all the pressure!) So instead, this year, I just tried to have a nice day with Andrew. It was pretty awesome

Earlier in the week, we printed minecraft valentine’s for his teacher and friends

I also found this Valentine’s Day bingo to play at school with Andrew and his friends

The prizes 🙂

For dinner, Andrew and I headed to my parents. I loaded my plate with lots of salad and meat!

DSCN0410

I also got some snuggle time with my nephew Seamus

DSCN0411

Andrew and I then headed home and watched some of the Olympics with Mr Bubbles

DSCN0415

I also gave Andrew a chocolate rose and card

The inside of the card was the best part 😉

Question for you:

What did you do for Valentine’s day?

What did you get your special someone? or did you get?

Day off at home

The past few weeks, I have been picking up a lot of extra shifts. Which is great on the bank account, but not so much at home.

But luckily today, not only did a get a ton done at home, but I also had a few visitors

P1080453

This guy was my buddy for most of the day (his sister slept most of the day)

P1080452

I even had time to set up a new piece of furniture in the living room

P1080456

Even before I picked them up, I headed to the gym. I have been trying to get in some GREAT workouts. Not necessarily LONG workouts, but SWEATY ones haha

P1080451And today was another good one

Baby stuff was everywhere!

P1080454

And I had a blast taking  care of them, not overwhelmed or stressed at all. Can’t wait till next week

Question for you:

Do you get stressed with lots on your plate?

Balloon Race 2013

Each year, in Forest Park, there is a huge event involving hot air balloons (I mean you can’t get any cooler than that, right?!?!)
My family usually goes to the balloon glow on Friday night (this was last year) But this year, the rain was just not having it, so instead we went to the race. We drove and then my mom, nephew, Andrew, and I rode our bikes into the park

DSC_0123
It was a bit windy, so the energizer bunny didn’t take off, but alot of balloons did race!

So here is how it goes. The first balloon (usually the bunny. but this year was the red balloon) takes off about ten minutes before the others.

DSC_0135
He floats away gracefully…..
(of course there is WAY more that goes into it than that)

DSC_0143
But anywho, after floating, the man actually “driving” the balloon drops a bag to the ground. The other balloons follow suit and try and get as close as they can to the first dropped bag.
I believe the whole race is for bragging rights, and its more about luck than skill (so someone told me, but I’m sure there is a TON of skill involved. I won’t be “driving” a balloon anytime soon. haha)

We had a blast! And if you are in St Louis for next years race and balloon glow. you should head to Forest Park!

Question for you:
Have you ever been in a a hot air balloon

14lbs of baby

After a long day for my brother and sister in law, the babies finally made their appearance at 11:43 and 11:47 (thats right. 4 minutes! between each!) My sister in law is my hero!

Also my nephew and I were buds on Friday, and he got this superman outfit from the babies. He was pumped

I have to say I love these babies so much already! They are adorable and they are doing so well, so is  my brother and sister in law.

Unfortuantly, I have to work this week, but I know they will have plenty of visitors and hopefully they will let me help when they go home 🙂

Question for you:
Who is the most recent baby that you have held?

-I last held Fiona 🙂

Last vacation to see Sam

Ok. Sam is not really a person I know (although my mom said a biillion times that this is her favorite place in the world)

Sam is actually Sam A Baker State Park. It is about a two hour car ride from St Louis, and is probably the closest I get to camping each year haha

We started the day by following this…. All our bikes ready to go!

P1070763b

My partners for the ride

P1070765b P1070766(my son and nephew)

After unpacking (in record time) we headed out for a bike ride!

P1070771b

It felt great to move our legs! And I needed it because I had to pull over 100lbs behind me!!!

P1070769b

(Andrew. you must learn to ride your bike. -love mom)

We also went down to the river, which seemed alittle high but nothing crazy with all the flooding lately

P1070776b

The boys were taking all kinds of pictures together

P1070782b

Before we knew it, it was time for dinner and a bonfire!

P1070801b

More to  come on Monday!

-We stay in a cabin at night, but rough it during the day haha

Celebrating the big 2-8

Hi everyone! I know I have been “missing” lately when it comes to the blogging world, but I have to say, I have been out exploring the world, enjoying my summer with Andrew, and otherwise I work (BLAH). But I do have a lot to tell you guess! I promise!

~~~~~~~
special day :)
special day 🙂
Today I turned the big 2.8. It started off like any other day, trying to sleep in waking up to Andrew’s voice (or him jumping on my bed)
P1070489b
We had breakfast, nothing special, and went to the library.
Then at 10:30 we went to see the baby who stayed with us for 6 days a few weeks ago. I swear if ANYWAY can cheer me up, it is this little guy. And he started crawling!!!
Ok. enough gushing about him. Andrew and I then went to the pool. He brought a friend and I swam a mile!!!!!
swimming
I know that isn’t a big deal for some, I mean I used to swim mileS in practice  in highschool and college. But it has been about 2 years since I was swimming with the masters team. I COMPLETELY miss swimming. I actually swam last Saturday as well.
After a few hours at the pool, we headed to my parents for the confetti cake. Ok. really for family dinner I mean the cake haha
P1070494(the flames of each candle were the same color as the candle, very cool)
We had lots of goofy pictures
P1070501 P1070498
And then I got the best present EVER!!!
P1070502 P1070503
I have ALWAYS wanted one, but I would never spend that kind of money on myself (just privacy fences haha)
I can’t wait to try this before work tomorrow! I swear I will have more posts coming up- lots to catch you up on 🙂
Question for you:
What kind of coffee do you like?
What month is your birthday?
