Sam Baker 2014

While on my hiatus from bloggin, my family and I went on a short vacation just 2 hrs or so away……

My family and I have been going to Sam Baker State Park since I was around 4 years old.

We also went last summer. This year we had a larger group, and stayed in brand new cabins

Even though we were a few miles away from the others, the cabins were amazing!

I didnt take many pictures, I still only had my phone to take pictures, but I took this view from our cabin πŸ™‚

It really helped to de-stress. We even went on a hike, which might have been alot for me and my belly, but I made it!

of course there was coffee :)

I promise I will now have better pictures, because my camera (which lens broke) is fix!

question for you:

Would you rather stay in a tent, cabin, hotel, or bed and breakfast?

Weekly Workouts

A little more low key this week, but I will say I am happy I was still active and movin’!

Sunday: Rest

Monday: 40 min elliptical (after an “easy” 12 hr shift)

Tuesday: Rest

Wednesday: 10 mile bike ride

Friday: 3 mile bike ride. not long at all, but before a two hr car ride home 😦

Saturday: Rest

We had a great trip, and I loved that my family was so interested in getting those bike rides in! They were not long, but unfortuantly the trail was only 1.5 miles one way. But we made the best of it!

Question for you:

What is one active thing you did this week?

Do you plan rest days?

Last vacation to see Sam

Ok. Sam is not really a person I know (although my mom said a biillion times that this is her favorite place in the world)

Sam is actually Sam A Baker State Park. It is about a two hour car ride from St Louis, and is probably the closest I get to camping each year haha

We started the day by following this…. All our bikes ready to go!

My partners for the ride

P1070765b P1070766(my son and nephew)

P1070769b

(Andrew. you must learn to ride your bike. -love mom)

We also went down to the river, which seemed alittle high but nothing crazy with all the flooding lately

P1070776b

The boys were taking all kinds of pictures together

P1070782b

Before we knew it, it was time for dinner and a bonfire!

P1070801b

More toΒ  come on Monday!

-We stay in a cabin at night, but rough it during the day haha
