Spring Wreath Making

I started this blog last week, but with everything going on (aka me not leaving my bed), it took the back burner. Now that I have moved to the couch, I am able to get a few things done haha.

On a serious note, I am feeling better today. After about a week, things are starting to turn around 🙂 Now to come off the jelly and bread diet haha

~~~~~~~~
With time off from work, I made a list of what I wanted to do around the house. There are big and little odds and ends I have wanted to complete. I know that I wouldn’t be able to do a ton, but this way I had the list for when I was feeling 100%
One of the projects was a Spring wreath for the front door. Of course, saw it on pinterest
It was super easy, and with a Hobby Lobby coupon, it wasn’t too expensive!
I bought a couple bouquets of flowers (instead of one stem with one big flower~money saver!)
I cut each and stuck them in the wood wreath to make them look like one large flower.
I think it turned out great! And it brought some nice weather 🙂
I also had a buddy that was helping me
Question for you:
What is your favorite part of Spring?
Do you like to do crafts for your house?
Hitting a bump in the road
Well it’s been a bumpy week. I am now finally able to lift my head off the pillow without the room spinning for a good 5 minutes, so this will be fast! haha
Two weeks ago, I was feeling great! I was trying to get out and about, and may have overdone it. Last week, I pinched a nerve in my neck. This was sending shooting pains down my arm and back. While dealing with that, I was hit with the GI bug that has lingered for a few days now.
It has been a very difficult few days. I keep saying “I just want to feel well!” I want to be able to do laundry,or take Andrew to school. I hate that I am missing things with him. He asked if I could play basketball, and can barely make breakfast without getting lightheaded.
The amazing thing the past week, is how grown up Andrew is! When I was I sick all night, he helped make his breakfast, his lunch, and got himself all ready for school. Makes a momma proud 🙂
I am also excited that in just two weeks I will be back to work! I miss my friends at work and the babies! (just not sure how those 12 hour shifts are going to work….)
But before that, my younger brother will be getting married! I still can not believe it, but could not be more excited for this.
So I have A LOT to look forward to these next weeks, even though  had to vent a little. Hey, recovery is not ALL about the good. Now I just have to rest and GET BETTER!
Off to bed~
Got a little TOO busy, time for pancakes
So I MAY have gotten alittle too busy, alittle too stressed out. So you know what that means….
DSCN0456
Yep. Not feeling so hot today. I woke up not feeling 100%
This morning, I didn’t want eggs and bacon. Since I wasn’t feeling good, I wanted some comfort food and that ALWAYS means pancakes.
DSCN0464
I went to my handy dandy pinterest, and found this recipe for paleo coconut flour pancakes. I was alittle skeptical because the ingredients were pretty simple, but don’t let that fool you. They were amazing! I added some scrambled eggs, and bacon
DSCN0461
Today, I had a lot planned. workout at the gym. papers. bills. etc etc. Instead, I am drinking coffee in bed.
Checking emails, relaxing, and watching The Incredibles. I want to be able to breath tomorrow when I have my MRI. Everyone say alittle prayer around 6am that they find fat when they scan that darn mass. haha
Question for you:
Do you workout when you are sick?
-Usually I do, but the class I take, I usually can’t breath/move when I feel great, so I knew that I wouldn’t be able to push it, and then I would get frustrated. it would probably also not help my body heal, and we need that!
Starbucks makes everything better
With my cough still hanging tight, I knew I needed to take it easy. I kept my TO DO list pretty short: start packing, mow the grass, go to starbucks.
The worker suggested a Chocolate Cookie Crumble Frappucino and it did not Disappoint!
Although it was more of a dessert than a drink haha. I used a coupon, and it was perfect for my sore throat 🙂
I also got Andrew a few books for this summer
IMG_1573
And treats for me 😦
IMG_1575
I had a very off day. I am getting lightheaded easy, and felt worn out, just from helping my dad outside. Hopefully a good nights sleep will help for the long trip tomorrow. I am definitely in need of a change in scenery.
I have a few guest posts this coming week, but I might be stopping in a few times along the way! But mostly I am going to try and disconnect. I am hoping this will help as well.
Question for you:
How do you unwind?
Any big plans for the summer?
Getting back to it
I want to say thank you for all the wonderful comments the past few days. Thing are looking up!
Even though today started off with a cough, we were off and running!
After walking Andrew to school, I had a company come survey my property
IMG_1567
It was long over due, and now I have these nice stakes and pink grass haha
I cleaned the house, and got things organized. I found that I was light headed and having a tight chest.
IMG_1558
Thank goodness for my own stethoscope haha.
Everything was ok 🙂
I thought maybe I was just feeling gloomy and down, and that I needed to get out and about! I went on a 30 minute bike ride around the neighborhood, but thats as far as I could make it 😦
Target trip for food supplies
Andrew and I grilled tonight for dinner
IMG_1565
It was actually my first time grilling sweet potatoes! YUMMY!!!!
I just put olive oil and cinnamon on them before grilling
IMG_1564
And finally went to get a pedicure with my mom
IMG_1568
Funny how they match my flowers?!?! haha
Question for you:
What is something you did today?
How did you move your body tonight?
My stomach rejects Valentine’s day
Yesterday started with a valentine’s card (with tattoo!) from Karen, and a kissable frog from Amanda.
I absolutely love this frog. I almost started crying. She is such a good friend to think about me (more on him later)
Then a few hours later, my stomach was not liking me very much. I actually had to leave work early. Which I absolutely HATE doing. And Audra gave me a nice pink bucket to bring home with me just in case. (luckily it went unused)
The rest of the day wasn’t pleasant. Last night I took my temperature with Andrew’s alligator thermometer
IMG_0989
Fever 😦
Today, I was able to drink 7up, and a Mcdonalds shake (thanks to my mom!)
Then I started with panera soup in a bread bowl. Which I haven’t had in YEARS. I needed the carbs.
IMG_0992
This week I am not doing my weekly weigh in, I’m sure I am down weight but not on purpose haha
On the good side, I have received this from not one, but TWO friends on Valentine’s day.
love
I saw this little boy on Ellen. And we are now soul mates haha
I also found out that someone is pregnant with twins!!! It is still early so I can’t spill who, but I am SOOOOO excited!!!!
Two years ago, valentine’s day was much better 🙂
Question for you:
What did you do Valentine’s Day?
What is your comfort food when you are sick?
Here we go again….
How is everyone doing?!? Sorry I didn’t post yesterday, it was CRAZY!!!
Things Andrew and I got accomplished: gym, meeting, out to lunch, doctor’s app. for Andrew, cleaned car, played in sprinkler, and watched a movie w/ some ice cream 🙂
TIred just thinking about it. haha.
Bad new is: Andrew started with the sniffles and deep cough last week. We chopped it up to allergies and the bathroom remodeling. But yesterday, we went to get it checked out (it was just lasting too long) SO he  has an ear infection, is getting his allergy medicine changed, eye drops, and nasal spray. UGGHH. not fun
We are officially our own pharmacy haha
And this is how I am spending my morning. Yep I now have the deep cough (thank you Andrew for all those kisses haha)
Question for yoU:
How did you spend your morning?
