Snowmegeddon 2014

Hi everyone! First, I hope everyone is safe and warm out there! Here in St Louis it is pretty snowy and cold

Andrew and I started the morning thinking that we would eventually go sledding, well that didn’t happen but we did have some fun!

It was really pretty out though! I think we ended up getting about 12 inches

Of  course we made a huge mess in the house, and I did get a bit stir crazy.

We then packed a bag! Because of all the snow, and the fact that my car probably wouldn’t make it to work tomorrow, Andrew and I are staying at my parents for the night. He doesn’t have school, but my dad and his truck will be driving me in the morning 🙂 I am one lucky lady to have a supportive and helpful family

We ate dinner, then had some wine and played rummikub

Then I headed up to my old room! Lots of memories up there!DSCN0094 DSCN0092

Yep. I had a mint on my pillow and all! It was perfect.

I guess my mom isn’t the only happy one to have me home 🙂

Question for you:

How much snow did you get?

Is your childhood room in tact? or did it become the workout room haha

Snow Fort

Happy Monday

After the beautiful snow yesterday, I woke up extra early to plow through it to get to work.

Lucky for Andrew he was able to spend his snow day with my mom and dad

They had a blast!

My brothers and I always used to make a fort when there was enough snow. One year we sprayed the snow with the hose and made our own bumpy ice skating rink in our back yard

Question for you:

How was your monday?

What did you make with the snow as a kid?

7 inches and counting

The weather in St Louis is just all over the place

And even after 27 years living here, I am still getting used to it haha

Andrew and I did make it to church this morning, and to a few stores to look at a couch before too much snow

Then we headed outside to make some snow angels

And have a snow ball fight (sorry now pictures, I was really into it. I can be a little competitive like that haha)

Even though I am SOOOO READY for Spring, the snow is really beautiful

Hoping for Easter ASAP and that everyone makes it home and to work safely tonight and tomorrow 🙂

Question for you:

How is your weather?

What is your favorite season?

Weather, boys, and food

Sorry I have taken a few days off. It has been a stressful week. I haven’t been sleeping

and I am now not going to Kansas with Mr Flowers (long sad story)

Anyway, I started the day with a warm breakfast: 2 eggs, 1/2 cup pumpkin, cinnamon, 1/2tsp baking powder, and PB2 on top

I then took a short nap before yoga.

It does a body good 🙂

Lunch was simple: meatballs and carrots. With cashews for a snack (and two cookies.eek)

Then this happened!!!

Remember the spring weather on monday??? Nope. Winter is back!

Dinner was pork tenderloin with bacon and a sweet potato

Tomorrow, I’m not expecting to lose any weight. With no sleep, stress, and not the best eating. But, tomorrow is a new day 🙂

Question for you:

What is your favorite “warm” breakfast?

Andrew announced that it was finally snowing!!!!!

St Louis has been off the radar for snow this year, and now it was here!

Andrew and I were enjoying it

And tried to catch a few snow flakes

(UPDATE: I wrote this post awhile ago, it is now 60 degrees  in St Louis haha)

Would you rather:

1.) be in a cabin, by the fire, enjoy hot chocolate while it snow outside?

2.) laying on the beach, with the sun beating down, waves rolling in, and a cold drink in your hand?

One Flaw

Yesterday was one of those days.

It started w/ the first snow for St Louis (can you believe that!?!!? January for the first snow). Well, it was a long and slow commute to work, but I made it all in one piece.

Work was not long and slow. I hit the ground running when I first came in at 7 am, and it didn’t stop until I clocked out at 19:30 (hey at least I was on time! haha) THe baby had had today, was just not having a good day….at all.

The day also started w/ news that one of my good friends lost her baby. She and her husband have been trying for awhile to get pregnant. and I was so happy when we finally got the news! She was actually in my house when she first told me. I send all the prayers and love in the world to her and her family.

After this, I also knew I needed to talk to Ryan.  I never like to have this conversation. To say “This just isn’t going to work”. Even if I have only been talking to someone for a few weeks, it still feels like a “break up”.

Then on the drive home, I got a text from Andrew’s dad. and it wasn’t very nice. Let’s leave it at that.

So here I am going down the highway at 40 miles per hour, trying to not get hit by anyone on the slick snowy roads. And also trying not to pass out because Im Exhausted! And I began to cry. (LET IT OUT GIRL! haha)

I went and tucked Andrew into bed, and talked with my mom. She was an ICU nurse back in the day, and talking with her always makes me feel better. And then when I got home, I took a bath. IT WAS AWESOME! and I checked my email. And my mom had sent me this:

God doesn’t give you the people you want; He gives you the people you NEED…to help you, to hurt you, to leave you, to love you and to make you into the person you were meant to be.

One Flaw In Women

Women have strengths that amaze men…

They bear hardships and they carry burdens,

but they hold happiness, love and joy.

They smile when they want to scream.

They sing when they want to cry.

They cry when they are happy

and laugh when they are nervous.

They fight for what they believe in…

They stand up to injustice.

They don’t take “no” for an answer

when they believe there is a better solution.

They go without so their family can have.

They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.

They love unconditionally.

They cry when their children excel

and cheer when their friends get awards.

They are happy when they hear about

a birth or a wedding.

Their hearts break when a friend dies.

They grieve at the loss of a family member,

yet they are strong when they

think there is no strength left.

They know that a hug and a kiss

can heal a broken heart.

Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.

They’ll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you

to show how much they care about you.

The heart of a woman is what

makes the world keep turning.

They bring joy, hope and love.

They have compassion and ideas.

They give moral support to their

family and friends.

Women have vital things to say

and everything to give..

The thing I found ironic, she sent this to me this afternoon. Before she even knew I was having a rough day. I swear, sometimes, we received something just when we need it!

Question for you:

Your awesome in many ways, what is one of them?

-I wear my heart on my sleeve. Which is pretty awesome (even though it gets wounded more easily)
