I need to start branching out. I have been eating the same thing every day, and need new ideas! feel free to share what I should be trying!

Starbucks makes everything better

With my cough still hanging tight, I knew I needed to take it easy. I kept my TO DO list pretty short: start packing, mow the grass, go to starbucks.

The worker suggested a Chocolate Cookie Crumble Frappucino and it did not Disappoint!

Although it was more of a dessert than a drink haha. I used a coupon, and it was perfect for my sore throat 🙂

I also got Andrew a few books for this summer

And treats for me 😦

I had a very off day. I am getting lightheaded easy, and felt worn out, just from helping my dad outside. Hopefully a good nights sleep will help for the long trip tomorrow. I am definitely in need of a change in scenery.

I have a few guest posts this coming week, but I might be stopping in a few times along the way! But mostly I am going to try and disconnect. I am hoping this will help as well.

Question for you:

How do you unwind?

Any big plans for the summer?

The stomach bug has officially struck  again. First me, then my dad, and now Andrew. Last night was ROUGH. He was up every 20 minutes in the bathroom. I think we had one 2 hour stretch and that was it. I was exhausted!

I headed to target to get 7up, yogurt, ice cream, raisin bread, and gatorade. (all the things needed for tummy issues! haha) Thank goodness there is a starbucks IN target!

(Kris is actually what my grandma calls me, the lady must have known haha)

Since 6am, Andrew has been feeling MUCH better. Thankfully because I had to QUICKLY clean the house for a 9am appointment to get my house reappraised.

Not too shabby.

There is a big snow/ice storm here, so Andrew’s school has been called off.

strom

So we are watching cartoons and relaxing. While I catch up, and get some laughs from facebook

And take lots of pictures of the storm

I made a BIG warm breakfast (for me. Andrew still has only had 7up and yogurt)

(which was actually at 11am, so brunch haha)

Paleo Pancake recipe to come tomorrow 🙂

Question for you:

What is your favorite thing to do when it snows?

-Andrew and I were going to go sledding, but no such luck 😦

2 sick puppies + new date

This morning, I am typing to all of you on my comfy couch, under a blanket, with my favorite cup of coffee…..

can you spot the legos? haha they are everywhere!

Andrew is home from school sick, and I’m right there with him. Yep. Two sick little ducks at home. I even got him a hot chocolate (i hope he doesn’t get addicted to starbucks like me haha)

On friday, I took Andrew to the doctor for a strep test (I knew he had it. They didn’t think so. His rapid came back negative. WELLLLLL yesterday, I get a call and his 72hr test comes back positive (I have to say it, I told you so haha)

So. He’s on antibiotics (and can’t go to school till he has 24hrs of antibiotics) Im on dayquil. It’s a mess. Please stay away from St Louis, because apparently, this is all going around haha (jk. Im sure everyone is getting sick-I’m just a baby)

The bad news is, tonight I have a date. OHHHH brother. this should be interesting.

All of you know that I have been on match.com since this summer. Well, it’s not working for me anymore.

I actually started investigating the group Events and Adventures. Which is a group for single adults 21-?. They have about 21 locations over the United States, and there is one right here in St Louis!

I called to get information. Apparently, they have 40 or so events planned each month. Which can include: dinner, movie, hiking, bike riding, sky diving (EEK!), and they even are taking a trip to paris next month! I was so excited about trying this out, but I needed to see how much it would cost…..

Well, they wouldn’t tell me on the phone (AHHH WHAT??) So the meeting I had on Saturday, was to meet w/ someone from the group (they want to make sure you aren’t crazy or have history of violence).

The meeting went OKKKKKK. They lady was kindof annoying. She kept repeating herself about how great the group was, how they aren’t a dating group (but they’ve had 4 marriages the past year…), and then lectured me for 10 min on how online dating was bad for me and my son. (um. thanks mom.)

Even though the lady wasn’t my BFF, I still looked at the prices. Lets just say my jaw dropped. Unfortuantly, my wallet and I had to walk away from this deal. Although, it seems like an AMAZING group w/ lots to do. I just couldn’t afford it.

My next thought, is to try the St Louis Triathlon Club. But I still need to get info, so more info to come…….

Anyway. Back on track to my date. I am actually going on a blind date. My friend Beth, who I work w/ in the NICU, is setting me up with her brother in law.

So. Let’s give some info on him haha

  • He lives in Illinois, but works in St Louis
  • He works in some sort of construction thing. (ill have to get more info tonight haha)
  • He is from IL
  • He has a house just across the river, and a farm. (my family has a farm as well)
  • I was actually in a wedding w/ his sister.
  • He is 34. (this is the only thing I’m worried about. He is 9 yrs. older than me)
  • He seems very sweet, but also has my sarcasm
  • He actually dated someone before w/ a kid, so I believe we are good in that department haha

anything else you guys want to know, and Ill ask on my date haha

I will let you guys know how it goes! Hopefully, I still be the happy and sarcastic Kristen I know, and not the sick and I look like I’m going to die, kindof Kristen. haha

(sorry for the long post. Obviously, sick to me, doesn’t mean speechless. haha

Question for you:

When was your last date? What did you do? (and yes. this counts for the married folk too!)

busy bee

sorry the past week has been crazy. but not only that, my mom, who is letting me use her camera (since I lost mine), she has been using it (BOOO) (I had to steal it back haha)

(and Im hoping Santa brings me a camera, or I can get a good deal on one after christmas)

~~~~
A lot has happened!
The family got together for Christmas card pictures
Andrew and I will be sending our VERY FIRST christmas card just the two of us. The family photo will be sent out by my parents.
(if you want a card, send me your address. seriously. Just email me livinlifeinlouie@gmail.com.)
~~~~

Justin the elf has been moving around the house!

My house started falling apart! the sink started leaking all over, the cabinet had to come out…….:-( And one of the electric outlets upstairs started smoking!

Andrew and I went to breakfast w/ Santa at my old gradeschool

We went to a Billikens basketball game

I started a new project

I also went on another date w/ Cody.  On Sunday night we went to get dinner. Thai food to be exact. I have never had Thai before. We got crab rangoon and then I got sweet and sour chicken. It was ok.

We then grabbed some starbucks. (yup. He loves starbucks and loved the pumpkin spice latte this fall. He might be a keeper! haha)

With our coffee ready, we headed to Our Lady of the Snows. This is located in Illinois and is one of my favorite places. There are over 1 MILLION lights and they start putting them up in October !!!!

(sorry not the best picture)

The place is absolutely gorgeous and my family has been visiting for years on Christmas Eve. So it was nice to share this with Cody who has never been, but says there is a similar place in Kentucky, where he is from.

So far, he is an extremely nice guy and defiantly has the southern charm that has been lacking in my previous relationships. BUT its only been a few dates haha. Ill keep you guys updated!

Question for you:

What Thai food do you usually order?

Oh my hip

Saturday morning started out nice and easy with the lil guy. My son and I watched Beauty and the beast after breakfast. We then got a call from my sister in law and nephew. They were going to a parade and we decided to join them!

It sounded like a great idea. We got there around 10. And the boys were playing, while we were chatting of course. And then Andrew fell.

THey were climbing on this little area (that I guess is used as a workout place to do sit ups and pull ups). He ended up slipping off on of the metal poles, and landed right on his right thigh.

I saw it. It didn’t look good.

He wouldn’t put ANY weight on it. And wanted to go home instead of the parade. UM. what? Andrew’s never one to miss a parade. so I knew something was wrong. He was in a lot of pain and crying.

So for the next two hours, andrew and I spent some time together at the urgent care. They took two xrays. And saw nothing wrong

We then went to my parents house (where I had to carry him in, since he still wouldn’t walk on it)

He is staying with them, because while we were in the urgent care, my friend’s Sarah and Jessica where coming in from California and Tennesse. After making sure he was comfortable, I headed home to meet the girls.

They are finally here!!!!!!

We were all STARVING. We headed to Favazza’s for lunch. Which is a delicious italian restaurant on The Hill.

No pictures were taken, because eating was HIGH on the priority list haha

We shared toasted ravs, and I got a chicken caesar salad.

Then it was back to the house to let our bellies rest. We were stuffed!

but only for a few hours, before heading to get ted drews ice cream! A St Louis favorite.

This was pretty much dinner.

We then watched a little tv.

PS the movie Switched, is NOT good. we had to turn it off

After getting pretty, we headed to Fast Eddies in Illinois.

We had a few drinks (and french fries)

Me and Sarah

Me and Jessica

There was a band, so we did some dancing and singing. with LOTS of people watching haha

Then home, PJs and bed. I swear we can do some major talking. And even more laughing.

But we still missed our friend Carolyn, who couldn’t make it.

~~~~
 this morning we woke up, and decided target and starbucks was in order
I bought some halloween stuff, and got a pumpkin spice latte that the blogging world has been raving about.
It. Was. Awesome.
I drank it in about 10 minutes haha
Then the girls had to leave 😦
The GOOD news is, is that Andrew is FINALLY putting weight on his right leg. So hopefully we won’t have to visit the ER today!
Question for you:
What do you and your girlfriends do for fun?
Do you see your girlfriends often?
