What I ate Wednesday: Simple eats

Yesterday was a busy day of catch up,ย simple eats, and a nap. After working lots, I needed a day to play catch up with laundry, dishes, papers damn bills, workouts, and a nap ๐Ÿ™‚

The morning started with LOTS of coffee. I was dragging but knew I needed to seize the day

Breakfast was eggs and bacon

After taking andrew to school, I unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher (where do all these dishes come from when I am at work all day!) Then started laundry, and ran to the store real quick.

Then it was time to get down to business. I knew that if I didn’t work out, it wasn’t going to happen. I just started p90x3 and since I missed Monday, I did both Monday and Tuesdays workout.

Let me tell you, I LOVEDDDD it. And they are only 30minutes!ย I did total synergistics and agility x. I definitely recommend this program. and even though, I didn’t have a pull up bar at the time, I just did push ups.

Lunch time was calling my name after two sweaty workouts. Roast beef with a little bit of cheese and ketchup, cucumbers, and grapes for dessert.

Then it was nap time. I slept for an hour! My body definitely needed the rest ๐Ÿ™‚

After that it was time to clean the bathrooms. I would pay someone each week to this job haha. Andrew was finally home for school and it was time for a snack. meatballs and snow peas for me. I could feel my body needing more protein

The rest of the night was low key. I was still exhausted. So Andrew and I watched 10 kids and counting while eating stew and then dessert was a chocolate shakeology.

This time it was chocolate shake, pecans, maple syrup, and water. delicious ๐Ÿ™‚

Lots of delicious eats! simple. but good ๐Ÿ™‚

Healthy Living: week One

Well so this post was supposed to be up yesterday. But this week has been a little rough. I may have pushed it a little too hard. I have a pinched nerve in my neck, which has been sending shooting pains down my arm. Then on Thursday,ย  I was hit with the GI bug. definitely NOT my week. So the past two days, I have been laying on the couch or my bed. that’s it. But I was able to do some healthy things at the beginning of the week ๐Ÿ™‚

I made a promise with myself. Over the past few weeks, I have decided to be healthy for me, for Andrew, for my kidney ๐Ÿ™‚ So each week I hope to show you what I have done to make that happen!

30 by 29: week 9

I hope everyone had a great week! I can’t believe we are week 9 of this challenge! I feel like I was just writing up week 8. This week went pretty well, just need a little improvements ๐Ÿ™‚

Week 8: Down 1.5lbs

TOTAL DOWN: Considering I was up 4lbs last week, I am still up. BUTTTT this week, I lost. That I am happy about ๐Ÿ™‚

I have been tracking everyday, and I have been getting less than 80 of carbs. This week I want below 60. I can do this!

  • Friday:ย  15 min elliptical + 10 minute no excuse workoutย (I did this 2x with sets, not a time)

Lots more weights this week! my body defiantly feeling it, and liking it. I did miss my spin class and rowing. But I think I will try and incorporate both weights + cardio ๐Ÿ™‚

Even though I probably won’t make 30 by 29, I am still going to plow through. If I lose or not, I am not going to stress about it. Just try and be healthy eat day, and keep track if the weight goes up or down. Just see what happens!

Who’s ready for spring time!!

Weekly workouts + blueberry pie for one

Hi everyone! I had a great break from the blog to spend time with family and friends. It was great! I kept the camera at home, and caught some rays ๐Ÿ™‚

Beside being sick at the beginning of the week (and then working a ton) but I ended up getting some good workouts in towards the end of the week. I found this blog on pinterest, and now I am in love! Great workouts! Check it out

This week was more about getting my stress under control, not working out. Luckily, I did get in three good workouts to help de-stress a bit.

This week has been very stressful. I think being out of town the past couple of weeks, and the other days working, I haven’t had a day at home since July. My sister in law, who is pregnant with twins, start contracting on Monday. Luckily they were able to slow the contractions. I have been helping with my three year old nephew (who I love!) but it takes up all my time and I haven’t been able to get anything done. Which then makes me anxious. There are other “things” going on, but lets not dwell…

I will say there are TON of emotions going on over here, but I have been doing great with the “eats”. With lots of healthy options, I haven’t turned to sweets! WAHOOO!!!!

Wednesday: 10 mile bike ride

Thursday: 3 mile run (more on that later) and an 8 mile bike ride

Friday: 3 mile bike ride. not long at all, but before a two hr car ride home ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Saturday: Rest

We had a great trip, and I loved that my family was so interested in getting those bike rides in! They were not long, but unfortuantly the trail was only 1.5 miles one way. But we made the best of it!

This week I felt like I really got into my groove for my workouts. I got moving, and REALLY got sweaty. Now I just need to get my food in order!

Thursday: 30 min elliptical 10 min weights (after a 12 hour shift)

On Saturday, I also went to my friend’s lake house. I actually did a second workout! I swam to the buoy and back

It is actually a tradition with two of my other swimmer friends. We swam in college together, and even though the girls were not there this year, I did it all by myself!

Relaxing evening after muscle building

I am having a nice relaxing evening over here. And thatย  is for two different reason’s: Angela’s workout, and working for 3 hours in the yard

I did all three rounds (although, I only wanted to do two angela haha) BUT I worked out with the big boy today. Instead of being in the little corner, I went over with all the big guys. And my sweaty mess did pretty well haha

I didn’t even shower, because it was time to work outside.

It is a slow process of leveling out the ground and adding rock, and I got so muddy I felt like I was in a mud run (oh did I mention it was drizzling)

Putting it on the line

I’m not exactly sure where to start this post. I have a lot of ideas and thoughts floating around, and how to get them out (witout sounded stupid) is going to be hard. Please bare with me

The past few weeks, I have been having a really hard time with food. Between the baby, no sleep, and no exercise. I was a bit of a mess. I know that if I don’t exercise or get outside every few days, I become a crabby lady. (and crabby is a nice way of putting it)

I did workout Friday before the baby came. Even getting up at 530 am to go on a bike ride before picking him up. We did go for walks, play tennis (well not the baby), and I was running around with his schedule. and 4 hours of sleep resulted in a cookie binge

But I didn’t get a good sweaty workout in. My muscles were starting to feel mushy again (you know what I mean!) I started getting testy at little things, and I wasn’t sleeping well.

(rewind to a few months ago)

I made a pact with myself. This year was my year. I wasn’t HOPING to lose the weight. I wasn’t GOING to try my best. I AM going to lose the weight and feel better about myself. For me and for Andrew. Once I made that decision, it was smooth sailing. HAHA who am I kidding, it was hard! But once I got in the groove of eating better and working out FOR FUN, the weight started coming off! I lost 7 lbs, I was sleeping better, and had more energy. I wasn’t crabby, and I felt great.

(back to the present)

I don’t know why I didn’t plan a little better for the baby. Have meals prep (no cookies in the house). Slept when he was sleeping (instead of up reading my book) but you live and your learn. I did gain some back.

I keep going back and forth about whether or not to share my weight and the weight lose each week (probably because I am mortified by the number) I know that I shouldn’t be defined by that number, but I hate it. If I eat bad or my clothes don’t fit I start with the negative talk. “you are so fat” “look she can lose weight, why can’t you” “why do you keep doing this to yourself”. It all has to stop.

Ok moving on. I did buy a groupon for a massage with the plans to use that when I lose 10% of my weight. I have awhile before that. Now I need to think of a lower goal. Like 5 lbs or so many workouts in a week. Something to keep me motivated.

Andrew and I want to race in a color run this fall, which I am super excited about! We also play tennis at least once of week. Go to the pool on my days off. And I hit up the gym. All that moving adds up big time! I am also exercising for fun, and included Andrew by getting out of the house and playing like we used to as kids!

Now I just have to get my eating in check. (luckily those cookies are out of the house and gone) I have also been making sure to get to bed before 10. I need my sleep. Which leads to more energy to work out, and prepare healthier foods.

I know this post is a bit over the place. I swear I don’t mean it to be that way, I just had to get it out there that I was doing really great. I had finally had that LIGHT BULB moment when I realized I need to do this FOR ME. To be healthy. I know that I am going to have days (weeks) that stink, but I promise I will get back to it. Not because I HAVE to, but because I WANT to. Last week was just one of those weeks. Now I have to pick myself up, stop the negative talk about myself and move on!
