Weather, boys, and food

Sorry I have taken a few days off. It has been a stressful week. I haven’t been sleeping

and I am now not going to Kansas with Mr Flowers (long sad story)

Anyway, I started the day with a warm breakfast: 2 eggs, 1/2 cup pumpkin, cinnamon, 1/2tsp baking powder, and PB2 on top

I then took a short nap before yoga.

It does a body good ūüôā

Lunch was simple: meatballs and carrots. With cashews for a snack (and two cookies.eek)

Then this happened!!!

Remember the spring weather on monday??? Nope. Winter is back!

Dinner was pork tenderloin with bacon and a sweet potato

Tomorrow, I’m not expecting to lose any weight. With no sleep, stress, and not the best eating. But, tomorrow is a new day ūüôā

Question for you:

What is your favorite “warm” breakfast?

Yoga over the years

Today, my only goal 10AM yoga at the gym: DONE.

Almost two years ago, I got my very FIRST yoga mat. At first, I thought it was a little bit of a joke. I mean how can you get a workout in just by stretching. OHHHH how wrong I was!

My neighbor, Pam and I, then discovered this amazing yoga place and I was hooked. It was a great workout, and I needed the time to distress. It was perfect!

I even learned some new yoga positions, that were scary at first, but felt great when I accomplished it!

Tweeting about whether¬† to go to yoga or not…..(I ended up going, don’t worry)

In the past, my favorite pose was pigeon pose. Today, my favorite was happy baby pose. My hamstrings are so tight from the class Wednesday.

Happy Baby Pose

Question for you:

What is your favorite yoga pose?

Yoga pro or newbie?

Holy Headache

The past few days have been EXTREMELY frustrating! My computer totally¬†crashed! The only thing I could do was start the darn thing. Apparently I got this¬†f’in¬†major virus. Thanks computer geeks!

Deep breath. Well anyway, I have been doing this……

Bought a new external hard drive. Attempted to move all my files to it (who knows if they are all there). And then reload everything back on the computer, after wiping it out. (I think I need a new computer. AHH!)

OK. Well the happy news is, a few days ago I did get out and run! Like, OUTSIDE!!! I know, it shocked me too.

Since I am running this full marathon, I haven’t been able to train with Andrew at home. Now that he is in school, I can hopefully turn things around.

I dusted off my old running shoes….

And headed out for 3.3miles. It started out great and then the sun came out (and well, we just don’t get along. haha) I was one red, hot, and sweaty mess. But at least I did it! And it didn’t feel bad all

That night, my¬†cousin called me to go to yoga in the park. I was all for it!!! It was perfect and hard! Just what I needed. I am so glad we went. This weekend, I plan to run while Andrew is at his dad’s.

Question for you:

Are you computer savy?

-I can figure out a lot, but not when it comes to hard drives, and changing programs…no thank you

What are you doing this weekend?

One on One

Had a great day today! Started out w/ breakfast with Andrew before sending him off to school. I then went to help my mom (who is hosting the family for thanksgiving) get some food ready.

We made THREE pies: pumpkin, lemon and chocolate. Green beans, sweet potatoes and cucumbers. (my mouth was ALREADY ready for thanksgiving!)

Andrew got home from school, and it was time for lunch! Sweet potato fries, chicken and veggies w/ a sprinkle of parmesan. (I did have a few tootsie rolls for dessert- not paleo, but Ididn’t eat a million like I use to!)

After hanging out, it was time to clean! this house needed it! Andrew did help a lot, but then took a mini break haha. Love his funny face!

After dinner, I had yoga on the schedule! My neighbor Pam and I got a groupon and found this AWESOME yoga place. This is actually our second groupon w/ them.

Well, Pam kindof bailed. But instead of saying “ok Im going to stay home too” I left the house and got my butt to the yoga studio. And it was JUST ME and the teacher!

At first, I was like PLLEASE someone else come. And then when no one did, I just embraced the opportunity. I actually did a new pose too!

But I didn’t do it in heels! haha

Question for you:

What are you doing for thanksgiving?

What household chore do you HATE?

October Superlatives

October was a great month! Lots going on, and

I LOVE looking back to see all that happened!

– I started the month by trying to fing my match. I went on a few dates, and so far David and I have hit it off. But Im not settling, just seeing what happens!

-I completed my fifth half marathon and my brother finished his FIRST full marathon!~

-I did one of my favorite things, a Before and After

-I may have cried at work and at target

-I celebrated the Cardinals winning the world series w/ a parade!

¬†-I feel in love with yoga and Soulard’s Farmers Market

– Of course I had some YUMMY recipes!

chocolate covered pretzels

¬†Pumpkin Spice Latte (who doesn’t love pumpkin!)

Acorn Squash Recipe (that I could eat EVERY night!)

And then I found some awesome pumpkin recipes to share!

 Question for you:

What is your biggest accomplishment for October?

-Mine would be starting to listen to myself, and find time for exercise that is FUN!

What is your goal for November?

– I need to lose at least a lb a week, and start eating better. Lately, I have been eating non stop and whatever is easy (mostly cake, ice cream, and sweets. YUCK!)

three days!

Breakfast with the little guy was oatmeal again. Its in the 40s here!!!

My oatmeal: oats, PB, banana, cinnamon, and a scoop of pumpkin.

I tweeted this morning about whether or not I should go back to bed or go to yoga….

krissyswim16:go to yoga? or go back to bed?

Well I told myself, YOU’RE GOING!
And it was totally worth it. I even tried a new pose (we used the wall though, which helped A LOT!)

I wasn’t too impressed with it

On the way home, I got a 300 calorie pumpkin spice latte. Im not sure if it was worth it, but MAN it was good!

Then lunch. Good o’ pasta, broccoli, peppers, chicken, and parmesan cheese

And dessert was a chocolate pudding with some cinnamon pita chips. It was DELCIOUS.

¬†time to get Andrew from school, do homework, and then I cleaned up the Lego mess……and I found that the red spray paint SPREAD PAST the drop cloth I put down. AWESOME. So for an hour I was scrubbing that off the laminate floors. (it still looks pink. darn it)

Dinner was thanks to trader joes pizza dough. Love that stuff and my picky eater does too!

I had a side of acorn squash and he had carrots

I added corn to my pizza- DELICIOUS!

we got Ted Drews ice cream. (my weakness) and watched the cardinals game at my parents house, with my parents, nephew, and andrew

I defiantly ate way to much ice cream. Deep breath- moving on.

Question for you:

Have you started eating/drinking warmer things now that its cold outside?

(I guess I shouldn’t talk. I ate a whole galloon of ice cream after dinner and it was 48 degrees outside haha. But the oatmeal and coffee this morning was awesome!)

Veggie overload

Today started off with getting Andrew to school, and then a much needed nap.

(last night and this morning I had this HORRIBLE headache. For the most part that means Im dehydrated and its time for bed.)

So breakfast was at 10am. (NICCCEE)

egg,PB, banana sandwich

¬†remember yesterday’s yoga class? Well my shoulder muscles are on FIRE! I don’t have much upper body strength, and can now see how yoga is so worth it! (in many ways)

So no upper body workout today. Instead I went to the gym and did the treadmill intervals for two miles. Then waked a mile at a high incline. Got extremely sweaty! I was going to go to target after, but needed to shower (as a courtesy to the other shoppers haha)

Goodies from target!

I had a coupon for 12 dozen free eggs, and a dollar off the Light n Fit yogurt.

I also got some Xmas cards (I know Im ahead of the game, but they are really cute!)

Now I just need a picture of me and Andrew (let me know if you want one! haha)

I also got these awesome pumpkin candles for the mantel!

My dad also worked on my sidewalk that we started working on FOREVER ago.

Well we needed to cut some of the stepping stones. But I first had to buy the blade and my dad said it was a lot easier than he thought (YEA!)

Now we will have to just even them out, and lay the rest of the them. Looks SO much better than when I moved it.

Dinner was pasta, chicken, and every veggie I could find.

I was craving veggies- can you believe that? Red pepper, carrots, and broccoli. All, I had to add was parmesan cheese. DELICIOUS!

 Question for you:

Do you like veggies or fruit?

Do you ever crave certain foods?
